My best friend married the love of her life In January and I was absolutely delighted to have done her hair and makeup. It was such a gorgeous day! At about 7am with champagne in hand I started by setting Hannah's curls, her hair was inspired by 1950s Hollywood glam. It was quite simple to achieve the curls that Hannah had, I used a straightening iron and curled the curls forward rather than backwards and then pinned every curl to make sure it held all day. You can learn how to get this look with one of these tutorials. We finished her hair off with a lace clip and way too much hair spray which still wasn't enough for her fine hair in the sea breeze. Yep her curls fell but she still looked stunning.
Hannah's makeup inspiration was a Pinterest photo of Reece Witherspoon. No pressure Clair, all you have to do is replicate this red carpet look for your FIRST PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP JOB haha! Hannah wanted to do her own foundation base, her flawless application only emphasised her gorgeous skin. I contoured and highlighted using M.A.C and used a NARS pallet on her eyes and finished the look with some Napoleon Perdis falsies.
HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THIS WOMAN!
So down to what I wore. This is the ASOS CURVE Marble Print Twist Bodycon Midi Dress. This is a wrap style dress, this cut on me is usually a struggle as the slit won't stay shut because of my curvy hips, so I had the slit sewn shut. I wore it with these chunky shoes from famous footwear. I was hunting around for a pair of chunky black sandals to wear and these were on sale and super cute.
It was such a beautiful day and I'm so blessed to have be involved in this way. I couldn't blog about a wedding and not give a shout out to the groom.. This is GJ and this is the look of a man in love.
So what do you think of my take on a wedding outfit? This was a relaxed outdoor occasion but I would love to know what you think! What would you wear? Let me know below. Love you xx
