Did you know that Curvy Yoga is a thing now? Literally, a group of gorgeous, curvy, brave women get together every week to practice yoga and I'm one of them!
I reached out to Stretch Yoga to see if they were willing to let this crazy woman in their classes to blog about my experience over the 6 week course and they were more than happy for me to come along with bring my camera so all of you could follow my journey to becoming a Yoga goddess!! Ok maybe not goddess, but perhaps at least flexible! My main goal was to find a new way to strengthen my body after my injury and to calm my mind.
I have been learning so much in the two weeks since the course started. We started the program working through some deep breathing exercises and stretching and the second class was about working the core and learning some standing postures, like these..
So Zen! ha (please note, concentrating face.. do not fall over, do not fall over!)
The gorgeous girls at Stretch Yoga say that while "Big bellies, boobs and booties may bring all the boys to the yard, but they can also make yoga a little more challenging." and "With a focus on body acceptance and working with what yo'mama gave you - we'll use lots of props and adjusted sequences to show you how you can make any yoga pose work for you!"
Stretch is such a great studio to practice yoga. Not only are the instructors really caring and personable and the space is tranquil and peaceful but also really stylish! Um, where did you get those pot plants girl?! I want one.
This is PJ, the studio manager.
So I'll be posting a series of blogs on my experience at curvy yoga over the next few weeks, so make sure you follow along.
While Stretch Yoga has gifted me a 6 week course, this post isn't sponsored and all views are my own.
